BMW 507 - A Rare BMW
The BMW 507 is a Two-door Roadster produced by BMW between 1956-1959. Initially it was supposed to be exported to the United States but it turned out to be too expensive, resulting in heavy losses for BMW.
It possesses a 3168 cc BMW OHV V8 and has a 4-Speed Manual Gearbox. It has a Wheelbase of 2,480 mm (98 in). Its length is 4,380 mm (172 in) & Width is 1,650 mm (65 in).
The BMW 507 was the brain-child of US Automobile Importer Max Hoffman. Max Hoffman, in 1954, persuaded the BMW Management to produce a Roadster based on the BMW 501 & the BMW 502 saloons to compete with its rival Mercedes Benz's Sports Car, the Mercedes Benz 300SL.
